Default Trip Report: First time at Borgata, 1/4/05

This is my first time at a casino, and i had a pretty sweet time. I drove up there Monday night after the Sugar Bowl, got there around 2 AM, got my red card, and walked around for a little bit. I'm wondering if I met any posters by accident while i was there, or if you guys saw me. I was the Asian guy, 5'8", wearing a black button down shirt and jeans.

Anywho, I went to the 3/6 table first, just to get the hang of things. There was this girl there that hit just about every runner runner draw you could think of. Then she lost it all back. Nothing special here, down 10BB before the table got broken up. I must say, the popularity of the 6/12 game on these forums is definitely justified, it was one of the greatest games I had ever played in. I sat down to the right of this older guy, played every hand, bet every flop, and called every bet. Almost. He occasionally got lucky, but his normal reaction to a bet was a sigh, then reaching for the chips and calling. Then he'd flip over bottom pair or some insane draw that didn't make it. I left after about 3 and some hours up about 20BB. Then I went and got some food, came back down and sat at another 6/12 table. This one was fun. I met some pretty cool people at this table who actually talked and stuff. Sat to the left of a guy who also "liked to play". He was pretty cool, but not a very good player. For some strange reason, he thought i was his lucky charm and would keep asking to change 20 reds from me for a 100 bill. When he won a big pot (which he almost always did within a few hands), he'd ask to get his bill back. then he'd lose most of his chips, ask to change the bill, rinse, repeat...it was kind of amusing, but by the end of the night, and i had kept most of his bills....

stayed at that table for about 9 or 10 hours, up about 30BB. went to bed. got up the next morning and played about 10 minutes of 2/4 while waiting for a 6/12 game to start up. played for about 10 minutes before i had to go check out of my room. then my friends say they have no money left and want to go home, and the weather was supposed to be bad tonight, so i decided to leave. down 2BB after that stint.

all in all, it was a great trip, and i think i'm going to go back up there before i have to go back to school.

oh yea, and one other thing. do you really think that the bottled water is new and freshly "opened"? they don't come with caps, and i have a feeling they just refill them at the tap....anyone have evidence to prove otherwise....?

Next time try the Trop. I think the 6/12 is sightly better, even more donators per table, and there is always one or two maniacs that throw their entire stack at you. I LOVE that!

ive yet to see them fishing empty water bottles out of the trash cans to refill, so i would suspect theyre fresh bottles of water each time.

Better check those C-notes for fakes...sounds kinda odd that he kept cycling them through you. Nice win...nice report.

Doesn't this describe like 35% of people in the cardroom there?

Just kidding, and no offense intended.

I'm interested to know why you're the only one who suggests the Trop ...

Seems like everyone else hates it.
