Hand from 2+2 table last night--what do you do?
2+2 table with over aggressive player, but I'm not sure if he is a 2+2er, I suspected he wasn't. How do you play this as hero?

didn't read the results yet;
UTG straddling? if not, open-raising screams of strength. check-call the turn. fold if it's 2-cold to me. on a non-[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] river, fold. on a [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] river, call. |

Re: Hand from 2+2 table last night--what do you do?
Folding is wrong. The pot is way too big. This is an "Ed Miller" situation. That is, in big pots you do whatever you can to take it down. If you crash and burn, so be it.

Re: Hand from 2+2 table last night--what do you do?
I don't really like the 3-bet on the flop. The turn bet is real bad. By the time the river arrives you have over-invested yourself so much that you have to make this call.
So pretty much I'm not 3-betting the flop and I'm not betting the turn. Brad |

Given the original read of LAG, the guy could be holding A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] rag in which you would be a prohibitave favorite. He could even be playing something like 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] The CO's play here is seriously weak, and I doubt he took it down. Therefore, his money added to the pot makes building a pot with the LAG +EV. Comments? |

Re: Hand from 2+2 table last night--what do you do?
How does the CO's play (on the flop) equate to dead money? He could have a king, the Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and a lot of other hands that either have outs or could be the best hand.

Re: Hand from 2+2 table last night--what do you do?
Because if he had the best hand, he'd raise. Hell, he never raised, not once. His hand is clearly marginal, and his play is tight/weak unless he accounts for his opponents play and thinks on a higher level than .5/1 demands.
He could have a lot of hands, but his betting patterns indicate he doesn't have the best one. |
