AK in the small blind on the Bubble.
Played in a $20+2 STT yesterday and got AK from the small blind. Blinds at 100/200 will go up to 200/400 in next hand. Button raises to 600. There has been a fair amount of stealing so far and I think button could have A5-AK, K+ another high card or a pair. Here is how I played:
Seat 3: ronnay (2828 in chips) Seat 5: Trawls (1656.50 in chips) Seat 8: HERO (2445.50 in chips) Seat 9: lowrider (3070 in chips) HERO: posts small blind 100 lowrider: posts big blind 200 ----- HOLE CARDS ----- dealt to HERO [Ah Ks] ronnay: folds Trawls: raises to 600 HERO: raises to 2445.50 and is all-in lowrider: folds Trawls: is all-in 1056.50 Board [7h Qs 4d 2s 6c] No help and I finish in 4th a couple of hands later. How did I play this? I have really tried to analyse my play, but cant figure out if I made any mistakes. Folding AK here has to be to weak right? But is calling and check/folding the flop if I miss any better? Could a stop and go move be made here? Hope someone can help. |

Re: AK in the small blind on the Bubble.
There is no other way to play this. Calling is awful since the BB may decide to call or raise behind you.

yeah you have to push that. slick doesnt always win, but it wins enough, and you can get the fold too.
