Default THE Omaha H/L Starting Hand?

So, in Hold 'Em it's AA.
In normal Omaha it's AK(s)AK(s).

What's the best starting hand in H/L? Still AKAK?

I believe the best starting hand in Omaha H/L is AA23 double suited. (The A2 is suited and the A3 is suited) This gives you two nut flush possibilities as well as straight and low hands.

The object of split pot games is to scoop the pot. AAKK is not a good starting hand, because you cannot make a low hand with it. The only way to scoop is if there is no qualifying low hand in that pot. This hand is playable in some circumstances, but it is marginal.

As said above, AA23 double suited is usually considered the best O/8 starting hand. For high potential, it has top pair and two draws to a nut flush. It also has a draw to the nut low, with counterfeit protection in case an ace or deuce comes on the flop.

On the other end of the spectrum, 7-2 off suit is generally considered the worst HE starting hands. Anyone know the worst O/8 starting hand?

What everyone says, but also for Omaha Hi the other and some would argue actually better hand would be AAJT double suited.

No,

It's clearly 2222.

A pair of 2s will never carry an omaha game at a full table. About the only flop you could hope for is something like 444, and then you have to hope no one has a 4, or a higher PP.

I would imagine the worst hand would be 2222.

I have never heard anyone make a case for a worse hand than 2222. It can't make a low, a flush, or a straight. On a rag board, all it can beat for high is Ace high or worse. With a pair on the board, anyone with a pocket pair or pairing one of the other board cards wins. With trips on the board, all it can beat is the highest kicker. I think it's a worse hand than 72o in HE.
