Default Norman Chad - Any good at Poker?

This has probably come up before, but I'm new here... Norm is always self-deprecating about his poker skills. Does he play much / enter tournaments? Is he considered decent?

He used to be great. Then when he got divorced....his wife took his whole bankroll.

Based on some of his commentary I can't imagine he's any good. Sometimes extremely simple concepts like bluffing or slowplaying elude him.

He is there for entertainment and to enthrall the masses... he doesn't need to talk about implied odds and position to keep 98% of america entertained... Im rather glad he doesnt teach the TV fishies how to play

I don't think there's really time to get into all that while you are color commentating.. the action moves pretty fast on ESPN and I think he does a good job. I too am glad he doesn't teach people too many intricacies.

I was wondering this myself recently. Did a search for him on the Hendon Mob website, but couldn't find anything. Anybody know of any other websites with a player index like theirs?

Is the color commentary actually done in real time? Sometimes I get the sense that it has been added later.

No, it's not done in real time. There would be no way for Lon or Norman to know the hole cards; they only go back and do commentary for key hands after the tape is edited.
