Let's say you're in a 3/6 on Party 10-handed.

You're on the button. UTG raises, UTG+1 3-bets, UTG+2 capps. Everyone calls, even the blinds who idiotically call out of turn and you know the EP players will call all the bets. You haven't even looked at your cards yet.

You know there will be 36 SB($108) in the pot guaranteed. You finally look down at your cards and see 27o.

1)Do you call knowing that if you catch a monster flop, you're gonna win a shitload of money?
2)Is this a stupid question?

Your implied odds really suck. Think of it this way, you are being charged 4 SB to see the flop with the worst hand.

Are you saying you can make > 4 SB in the long run postflop here? You are going to fold the flop almost every time. Sometimes you will hit a pair and be forced to draw due to pot odds. You will often miss your draw, or hit your draw and still lose.

Sometimes you will win, but it doesn't nearly make up for all of the above with such a bad hand.

You aren't going to make > 4 SB in long term, 27o has a really hard time hitting the flop.

To answer your question with more than a simple yes or no... even though there is a lot of money in you still don't have enough to justify the call. 7-2 off is the worst starting hand you could have, and even playing that against 9 other random hands means you are worse off than atleast 5 of those (given the possibility that 3 other people hold 7-2). You will not win the pot anywhere near 1 out of 10 times and as such it is a bad investment.

Try thinking about it like this... if you were in a poker game like hold'em that had antes rather than blinds and you got to choose whether or not to put your 'ante' in after you have seen your cards would you choose to put your ante in after seeing 7-2? No matter what anyone else has you know you have crap so why choose to risk any money to play with that crap? When the pot is large (in terms of number of bets) you should loosen up your starting requirements for those hands which play well against multiple opponents, i.e. pocket pairs, suited cards, and connected cards. Yet that doesn't mean you should play just anything!!!
