Default \"Read or Die\" on Adult Swim

Anyone else catch this last night. I flip over at 12:15 and see it and figure "Hey, I'll watch the last 15 minutes of this before I go to bed". Turns out it is a 2 hour movie and I have to watch the whole thing.

Kinda sappy at times, but also pretty kick ass at times, too. Overall, the plot/writing was pretty rough but still worth watching IMO.

I think I have seen all the ATHF's, so it didn't piss me off that much. Also, I never keep up with the current line up, so I am only ever pleasantly surprised.

The absolute worst is adult swim on Saturday night. That 2hr block of Jap crap. I can't watch that junk at all. What was this 'read or die'. I saw it on the schedule but luckily I was working last night. Sounds like it sucked.

I'd rather watch fatmongo's avatar than adult swim anyway.

Lucky me I guess. As long as I'm around for new ATHFs on Sunday night, thats all that matters.

What, no love for Spaceghost? Also, Sealab just isn't the same without Captain Murphy.

Brak was my gateway into adult swim way back in the day. I tried to watch Spaceghost because of the Brak/Zorak combo, but I couldn't stand it. The show just drags and drags, I dont get it. I used to watch Brak and stick around for ATHF after. I soon realized ATHF was THE show. Then for some reason they dropped it from the lineup for a few weeks so I would watch Sealab after Brak. When ATHF came back I forgot all about Sealab till Daryn brought it back to my attention a few months ago. But since then Sealab has gone downhill FAST. So pretty much now I just watch ATHF. Oh yeah Futurama and Family Guy obviously.

If you don't like any of the jap crap, you probably would not have liked this. I like some of it, and some of it like "Cowboy Bebop" I liked a lot. (I also think some of it is pretty awful). Sometimes, the vision they are creating is enough to make the show work for me, like the 50's vision of the future that "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" captured was just cool.

In the one last night, it probably helped that there was some anime babe fighting seens, too.
