Default Where can I buy more of these . . .

I got a set of 300 of these chips for Christmas:

I really like these chips, but I can't find where to buy more, and I think I need more like 500. I'm told that they are definitely clay chips, but all I've found so far are completely new sets on eBay, and those chips are listed as composite, not clay. Can anyone help me with this?

You can probably just get them from the same site you got the picture from.

The site I got the picture from is advertising this style chip with metal inserts. I would prefer more of the same type I just got (all clay).

I doubt that they are all clay.

Wow!!! What a find! What you have is the ultra-rare "error" version of the common metal insert chips. There was a short time where they mistakenly used high quality clay and shipped these out by mistake. These are very hard to find, and if you have 300 of them, you might be surprised what a rare chip collector would pay for a mint set like that. You're unlikely to find 200 more of these in the clay version. If you do, it will set you back 600-800$ for 200 of them. Nice find!

Heh, those are metal slug chips, "all clay" is used to sell a lot of chips. Just buy a stack where you got the picture and see if the're the same. No matter what you read on this board, metal slug/composite chips work fine for a home game. I have over 1.5k of these kind of chips for tournaments and some of the fish can't even tell the difference between those and the samples I have of $1/each chips. I have ordered chips here before and the customer service was great.

Even though it says "all clay" around the metal slug, they are not all clay, and there is a metal slug in the chips, yours have it too.

jm, you're new but please don't let our attitudes get to you. We have a natural obligation to defend the big money we spend on our chips.

With that said, I have a very close friend that has 11.5 dice chips, hotstamped with his initials in gold. A very smart man; well off, nice house, nice things, runs business. He swore, up and down, that his chips were all clay, and 100% the same chips that casinos use. The reason he was sure of this is because his wife told him so. The reason she thought this was because the site she bought them from told HER so.

Not until I told him to take a magnet to his chips would he believe that they have metal inside. Not until I showed him my chips and explained a few things did he realize that his chips are not "real casino" chips. Not until recently did he admit that his are not "clay" but he still stands by the term "clay composite." And I have YET to convince him that 11.5g is not an official weight of anything.

There. I said it.

Very well put 10.

Since you will likely be able to find these chips again, take a hammer to one of them so you can find the slug. Magnet might work too, but I like hammers.

Also these are sold at www.pokernstuff.com I have samples and although clearly they have a metal slug insert, they are miles from the 11.5g insert ABS chips. They do actually have a clay-like feel to them, they're not as slick and do have a nice feel and sound to them. Of course pokernstuff sells these as 'clay composite' whereas the standard 11.5g are just 'composite'. They talk about this on there site
