Very unusual line for me on this one, as I usually pop AA as much as possible PF. 1/2 NL, 200 max, I have $184 in the SB, Villain in BB has me covered.
I have played with him before and he is tight aggressive, but occasionally will 'make plays' if you will. I played it this way because I didnt want to scare him off with the re-raise PF. I am dealt A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in the SB. One limper to me, and I make it $10. BB raises to $32. Limper folds, and I call. Flop: K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I check, he bets $60, and I call. Turn: K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] I check, he puts me all-in, and I call. Thoughts?? Sly |

Looks like he has QQ or the other AA.

really looks like QQ to me.
That said, I'd play AK much the same way, and I'd know i was probably dominated by AA or KK when you smoothcalled the raise. the flop eliminates KK, so you're either on a bald steal or AA in my book. All that said, i'd call here every time and expect to get shown QQ-TT 75% of the time and AK, KQ, Kxs the other 25. fim |

Against a tight-agressive player that is willing to "make plays," this is the type of line where you slowplay a monster and 'teach him a lesson' to not pounce if you show weakness. Great thing is, this is the type of board where you can afford to not play back, especially after the river. I assume you made money here, but either way, this guy might think twice about pounding you whenever you check in front of him.

I played this as one of those hands where I was most likely far ahead... (If he has any hand without a King), or WAY behind, (he does have a King). I figured that if I lead out the flop, he will probably fold a lot of the hands that I beat and will call (of course) with anything that beats me. By allowing him to bet I planned to make more money when I was ahead.
The river card was the 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] He showed red pocket 4's, and I dragged the pot. Sly |
