Fastest Bonus Clearing Level .5/1 or 1/2
I just put $1000 into Party Poker to get the 20% December bonus. I'm about 750 hands through the 1400 needed to clear the bonus.
I've been playing .5/1 so far, and am doing pretty well. Disregarding whether or not I should be playing 1/2 because I'm good enough for it and will make more money, which limit will clear the bonus faster? Are there more raked hands/hr in 1/2 than .5/1? I figure an answer to this question might save me a good hour of playing time between now and Tuesday evening when I have to have the bonus cleared. - Jason |

1/2 6max is the fastest. Playing 4 tables, you can churn out approximately 225-250 raked hands an hour.

Re: Fastest Bonus Clearing Level .5/1 or 1/2
I think that it's about 25% faster at 1/2, but with decent tables, it's not really a factor. (I think 2/3 of .5/1 gets raked and like 80% of 1/2.)

Re: Fastest Bonus Clearing Level .5/1 or 1/2
6-max NL is fastest, I think. I believe that they rake 10 cents when the pot reaches $2, so I played 50NL 6max to clear the bonus and virtually every hand was raked.

Re: Fastest Bonus Clearing Level .5/1 or 1/2
From my experience about 65% of the pots at 0.50/1 are raked and about 75-80% of 1/2 full ring are raked. 1400 raked hands of 0.50/1 would take about 2150 actual hands and 1400 raked hands of 1/2 would take about 1800 actual hands.

Re: Fastest Bonus Clearing Level .5/1 or 1/2
Thanks for all of the responses. I'm not to confident in my short-handed and NL abilities to 4 table them like I am the limit games, but I guess I will see how I do with the 1/2 tables.
If it really comes down to the wire on Monday (they put this bonus up against a holiday on purpose), I may switch to some 6max or 6max NL tables. Thanks again for the input. - Jason |

Re: Fastest Bonus Clearing Level .5/1 or 1/2
If you play the 25NL 6max and fold every hand, you would pay .75 cents in blinds for every 6 hands. That's about 13 cents per hand. 1000 hands x .13 = $130.....works pretty well for a $200 bonus. Or you could play 10 handed and pay 0.075 per hand or $75 for folding 1000 hands.
If you felt lucky, you could push all-in with AA instead of folding. Good luck. |

Re: Fastest Bonus Clearing Level .5/1 or 1/2
I just cleared my Party bonus by playing 2100 hands at 1/2 6-max. I played 4 tables and it took 6 hours. I got 350 hands per hour.

Re: Fastest Bonus Clearing Level .5/1 or 1/2
Yours and spydogs ways are definately the way to go to clear the bonus quickest. However, I also don't want to lose money doing. NL and SH are not my strong points, and I don't want to "learn up" on those games while clearing a bonus.
Like I said though, I will switch to these games if things get tight. I'm going to try the 1/2 table next time I play (maybe tonight or sunday). I'll try to remember to come back here and let you know how I do. - Jason |
