Default Why do you play poker?

So... why do you play poker?

It's time for dinner, so I'll post my response as a reply.

Fun game, I used to love chess and i find this gives me the same feelings as chess just with money at stake. Almost as if its a battle of minds.

of course the cards dictate who wins in the end of the hand but out bluffing people, Confusing them... Reading them. I LOVE MENTAL GAMES.

I love playing games which involve logic, maths, Being few steps ahead.

Also if i get good there will be money at the end of the rainbow which is an added bonus.

However first pure reason is i enjoy the game, I love figuring people out, Making moves and seeing how the people react.

Thanks,
Chris.

Because I love playing games. I have hundreds of games in my collection, in fact I bought another one today. Out of the hundreds of games I have played, I think that poker is one of the top three.

Default Because I am good at it.

It's also very challenging. Plus I am a damn good liar, and love getting inside peoples heads. Just a few thoughts off of the top of my head. I am very competetive. Actually the reason I started playing more seriously Is because of a back injury that put me up for the last year, so there has not been much else to do. UGH!!! Surgery on the 29th of December, hopefully I will be up and walking after the new year.

As ever,
Ric

I think EVERYONE who plays poker seriously has some kind of competitive aspect. Not having this is -EV.

I play b/c I'm a competitive mofo who likes the challenge and needs $ to buy alcohol and other random s**t

I like having a hobby which makes money! Must be my Scottish roots.

Also, and rather sadly, I believe it reinforces the skill sets I use at work. But I consider that a fringe benefit.
