Default Managing a Large Bankroll

Hey all,

This might not be the best forum for this, but I've seen bankroll questions here before... This post is mainly directed toward players who have very large bankrolls, both in terms of dollars and relative to the stakes that they play. Currently, my bankroll is split between online sites and a run-of-the-mill, pay-almost-0%-interest savings account. I feel as though my bankroll is far too much money to just let sit around the way that it is, but at the same time, I don't want to completely sacrifice my liquidity. How have others handled this problem? I'd appreciate any suggestions that y'all have. Thanks in advance.

sounds like you could put some $ into a long term investment thing like a mutual fund. But I'm an investment noob so don't quote me

I currently keep 150 BB on two different sites for my limit games. I'm planning on opening an ING savings account which gives you ~2.5%. Can easily withdraw the money from your ING account to your linked checking account.

Obviously stay away from stocks and mutual funds if you may need the money within the next 5 years.

Just a suggestion. I haven't really looked into its viability or profit potential at all.

You might want to look into depositing into one of those european sites. That way if the american dollar continues to depreciate vs. the euro you are making money. Obviously there is the inherent risk here that if our dollar actually makes up ground you are going to lose money but I am sure that a little research will help you speculate the direction in which we are heading.

I wish I had a "dilemma" like this for my 1000th post instead of something like whether to raise with JJ at the Party $1/2 game.

I don't know what you mean by large but my online bankroll that I used to keep on all sites combined was on the order of 8k-10k but I have found I can cut that in half and still multitable (2-3) 15-30 the following way: if I run out of cash at Party they instantly put more in my account through IGMPAY, so now I just keep about $5k in one account.

The transfers also hit Neteller pretty quick-within an hour or two if I want to move money around.

Don't know if that is helpful at all.

I read the post below-my mistake sorry.

Let me add this then, the problem poker is so swingy you might need it in a few days notice. I just put it in my savings account because I couldn't figure out anything better to do.

I think he's looking to make money off of the money he has but isn't using

Play a super high limit where your entire roll is involved.

ML,

What type of bankroll are we talking, and how much is needed to maintain a "safe" bankroll?
