Default Solitaire

Probably belongs in a different forum, but whatever...

Is there any strategy, etc to solitaire or is it pure luck? I've been playing way too much of this pointless game. Ugh.

Play Freecell. It's the best. It will keep you occupied at work for hours.

No, there's no strategy. If you're playing double solitaire (two people sit accross from eachother) then you could have an advantage if you have super quick hands and can get your cards up faster. But there still wouldn't be any strategy.

Yes there is. There's a lot of variations on solitaire though, and I only know a couple well. If you're playing draws of 3 cards and unlimited cycles through the deck, there is quite a bit of strategy. Draws of 1 with only one cycle I don't know how to play well, but there would definitely be strat to it. Draws of 1 with unlimited cycles should be beatable every time when played correctly. You could come to dead ends, but you shouldn't if you play things correctly. I was talking on the phone with this girl last night for a while, and for the first half hour she was playing the 1 card draw unlimited cycle variation on her computer and said she kept losing. I was like, ummmmm, that's a problem. I spent a few hours mastering the 2-suit Spider Solitaire game on my comp, and got to where I could beat it every time without fail. So I tried moving up to 4-suit and realized it wasn't just harder, it was a completely different game and required basically starting from stratch as far as strat was concerned, so I didn't bother.

Just slow-play the hell out of it. You can't lose.

What is the best Minesweeper score you've ever seen? (For expert level.)

I just beat Expert level last week after, what, like 6 years?

But while we are on games, Reversi is the best especially once you really learn the strategy behind it. Hint: Like a SNG you don't want to do too much too early.
