how\'s my play here?
30-60 amazing live game. im the tightest player at the table, not that that matters really.
strangely folded to me in late position and i openraise w/ KhTh. button goes all in for 2 chips creating a small main pot, sb and bb call. the flop is 9h8d4s. checked to me and i check. the turn is Td. checked to me and i bet, the sb shifts around weird in his seat and calls. the river is 6d. sb bets and i fold. comments? |

Hey Mike,
If it's the 6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] or 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] do you do the same? GoT |

i dont know. when he bet i was thinking two things: gee the pot's pretty small and he'll have to showdown whatever it is he has because the all in guy is still in. |

Re: how\'s my play here?
They just fold, regardless. The reason they always call is because they just want to see your cards. Any side pot at all means they will get to see regardless, which in general makes them fold a whole lot more.

Re: how\'s my play here?
I'd call. I don't think the "perk up" tell is valuable enough to make me fold top pair with a good kicker when I'm getting better than 6: 1.
So... what'd he have? |

Re: how\'s my play here?
I like the fold. Its a play I usually don't trust myself enough to make but I wish I would. I'm not sure how much different the 30/60 players are from say 8/16, but I have learned time and time again that when someone plays it like they have a draw and then bets out on the river when the draw hits, they got there. The case may be different if you are up against a solid player who knows you are capable of making that fold, but against your typical too loose, too passive fish I think the fold is good.

[/ QUOTE ] mike, if i wasn't wasted after going to the bike Christmas party I'd come up with something witty (or i'd hope to) but him shifting in his seat isn't a big enough tell. i'd call the river with tpgk even thought the side pot is small. ~ rick |
