Default Late Night 40-80 at Hollywood Park

Late night at the park, six-handed. Good game, goood mix of players, and I think we are all stuck. A couple of players play the "right way", waiting for the goods before they come and play. A couple of players are just nuts trying to buy the pots from you by betting and raising with something or nothing. My two opponents are closer to the latter than the former. Anyways,I'm on the button in a six handed game, all folded to me.
I have a [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Of course I raise this monster. They both call, so I figure I have the best hand
at the moment and hope for an ace.

Flop is q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]j [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9 : [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

First position bets, second position calls and I ...call

Turn is 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Now, first position checks, second position hems and haws and checks, I......check

River is 3 of hearts completing a backdoor flush draw. First position bets, second position folds, and I ....call

What do you think?

Check with Mason on this one. He knows how to play pocket fours on the turn when everybody has checked to him.

As for me, I'd have to bet the turn here. In case they're both on draws.

Andy, that looks like ace-four off to me.

I really don't like that flop. An overcard and backdoor flush draw doesn't seem like enough to call here.

I think this flop call stinks. The flop fits the sort of hands they are just calling your raise with like a glove. It missed you completely, and there are 2 opponents. I don't get it.

I swear the first time I read the post I saw 44, too.

Thought it was 44 for a second as well - maybe it's time for glasses.

Back in the good ol' days (using that phrase may be another sign I need glasses!), the A/4 similarity was a fairly reliable tell at the BJ tables. If the dealer had a ten-spot and took a second look at their down card, most of the times it was a 4 that looked like an A at first glance.

Default Results...

Thanks for the replys, probably a pretty thin call. Anyways, the guy turned over 10-6 of clubs and my hand is good. I figured he either flopped a straight or was on a draw so I took one of to check the turn action and I had the backdraw flush possibility.

I thought it was 44 as well (until I saw the comment about hoping for an ace and then I double checked). Using lowercase letters to describe cards when we are all used to capitals is a bad idea.
