Default Top pair + Flush draw = Cap like crazy?

I *think* the preflop call is ok, neutral EV basically.

Did I go overboard with the cap after the flop?

Slow down at the river when I missed or bet for value like I did?

Don't listen to my advice. Just want to compare my thoughts to those of others.

Fold preflop
Bet/Call flop
bet Turn and river like you did.

If utg checkraises on turn I fold.
If utg raises on turn/river I call.

Preflop limp is fine on the button.

Flop cap is good. Even though there are only two in with you after SB and BB fold, you still have top pair and a card higher than the other two on the board. The cap here is definitely for value.

Turn bet is fine - if raised, just call.

River I would probably just check-call. I'm not afraid of trip 3s or a spade flush, but I think you may be outkicked.

I cap this flop to pump my flush draw. Every 2nd caller is +EV to you so you're cap is fine especially with the other outs to improve your top pair.

turn: fine

river: fine

Cool thanks for that.

Unfortunately UTG+2 had AA, I can't believe he limped in early position, I wasn't able to put him on AA at all. Although I did consider being outkicked by QJ.

Nice hand, I'd probably take a free showdown with no reads though.

Preflop the limp is fine if your opponents are generally terrible and will call down with garbage. If they are tough or tight-aggressive players, you should fold. This really depends on your ability to outplay them postflop, and often outplaying may simply mean that you fold when you miss, and they will call down when you hit.

You have so much equity on this flop that your cap is for value. Fourteen outs to the river makes you a favourite just on drawing value alone.

I think the rest is fine.

If UTG+2 is known to be passive, I'd take the free showdown on the river.

I just check call the river, but the rest seems good.

Not to be nitpicky, but hero is the button and therefore cannot check call.
