No read on MP3. Preflop: Hero is CO with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 folds, MP3 calls, Hero calls, Button folds, SB completes, BB checks. Flop: (6 SB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (6 players) SB bets, BB folds, UTG folds, MP1 folds, MP3 calls, Hero raises, SB calls, MP3 calls. Turn: (6 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, MP3 bets, Hero raises, SB folds, MP3 3-bets, Hero folds. Was this betting sequence ok? It seemed like the raise was the only way to find out if he had the flush or straight. Final Pot: 11 BB |

I kind of like it - there is no way you're ahead of his 3-bet, but there's a chance he was just making a move by betting a scare card on the turn...
I think I just call though For that same two bets you can see the showdown instead of garnering information. Alex |

Like Ajax410, I'd be inclined to call down (or even fold, if I had a read on MP3 and knew he was passive). There are a couple of potential advantages to raising, though. You might get SB to fold a better king (I'm not sure how likely this is, though). Also, if MP3 is semi-bluffing with just the A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], you may not get any bets out of him on the river if he misses (whereas he'll call your raise on the turn). However, if he'll 3-bet with, say, 65, you'll end up folding when you had the odds to draw against the 3-bet. Also, some players will go ahead and fire a pure bluff on the river after missing with the A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], and against those players you'll pick up a river bet when they miss anyway.
