Default \"Are you live?\"

Was playing in a 50 buy in with a 40 addon at Lucky Chances in SF. End up shortstacked (very short stacked) Next blinds and ante will take my stack. I pick up J10s in the cutoff folded to me. I push. BB has to call with any two. Any two in this case was 37o. He laughs when he looks at his cards and says call. Before either of us flip are cards over he asks me "Are you live?"

Anyone know what he meant?

Never heard the term before.

not positive but I think he meant (jokingly) if he had you dominated or if both of your cards were different then his i.e. you didnt have a 7 or 3 in your hand, making your cards live. In the hand in question you were both "live"

Live means having two undominated cards. i.e. if he had QT, you wouldn't have been live.
it was a joke since its unlikely that you had 23 or 72.
