Re: Nightclub shooting leads to the death of two members of DamagePlan
Holy $hit. Dimebag is a legend in metal, for those of you who don't know.

I'm surprised the drummer didn't get shot.

Dude, I can't believe dime got shot!!! WTF? I'm gonna have to have a memorial listening of "far beyond driven." Was Damageplan as good as Pantera? Not that it matters.

Re: Nightclub shooting leads to the death of two members of DamagePlan
Holy sh*t. I can't believe what I just read.
Dime was the absolute greatest metal guitarist ever to strap on flying V. I mean, this guy did stuff that would leave freakin Eddie Van Halen scratching his head. And, by all accounts, he was a gentle and sweet soul. I realize this is hard to believe, but it is apparently true. Damn, this really sucks. If anyone's not really heard his stuff, check out The Great Southern Trendkill by Pantera. It has some of the most innovative metal guitar you can find anywhere. Listen to Flood. I mean, what the hell is he doing? What are those notes? Listen to the progressions. The guy was a virtuoso. Seriously sad day. |

Re: Nightclub shooting leads to the death of two members of DamagePlan
After posting, I went and turned on MTV to get a report. After wading through the commercials, the MTV News intro came on, so I went into the living room so I could get the story.
But "the story" was a U2 retrospective. Because, I guess, we haven't had enough U2 retrospectives, particularly the morning after a serious legend gets shot to death onstage. Unbelievable. Guess I shouldn't have been stupid enough to think I might get "music news" from the "Music Television Network." |

I used to be a metal head, it's a sad day indeed...not only because we've lost a legend, but because this sort of [censored] is happening in general.
