Default You Won\'t Believe What Happened at STEP 5 Final Table

Quick background: Heads up between myself and bosox4414. First place gets $9000, second place gets $5000. We had attempted to chop and split 50/50, but his Neteller wasn't set up properly so we decided to play it out.

I have $18,220, bosox has $1780, blinds are 750/1500, bosox is BB. I move in with 97o, he calls with 75o and pairs his 5s.

Next hand I have 77 in the BB, but he folds, following hand I have K5s and move him in, he folds again.

Now I have $18,690 and he has $1310 so from the SB he moves in with Q2o, and since it is only a few more to call I do so with J2o, I pair on the flop, but he makes a str8.

I now have $17,380 to his $2,620, and move in from the SB with A5o, he calls with JTo and pairs his T.

Next hand I fold 98o when he moves in, following hand I fold with 92o, and then he folds from the SB.

OK, now I have $13,260 and he has $6740 and the BB. I'm dealt TT and raise his $1500 to $4500, he moves in the rest of the way J8s and proceeds to make Jacks full of 8s.

OK, next hand he folds from SB, I move in with J6o next hand and he folds, then he moves in from SB and I fold J5o. I then move in again with K2o from the SB, he folds, and then folds again the following hand. Next hand I fold 53o.

Last hand of tournament: I have @8770, bosox has $11,230. I'm in BB with A7s, he raises my $1500 blind to $6500, I move in, he calls and turns over A6o. Board comes: 4-8-2-9-6.

Not only did the chop fall thru, but then I lost $4 grand when this guy hit three 3-outers in a matter of a few minutes. I was ahead $18,220 to $1780 and I couldnt even finish this guy off b/c of his amazing never-ending luck. Next time you think you have it tough just imagine losing $4 grand b/c someone hits 3 straight 3 outers on you.

Gotta love that blind structure.

I watched this table from the final 6 onwards - you were robbed.

It couldn't have helped with the peanut gallery screaming at you about chopping anytime someone moved in with a hand.

I wanted to add in critical hand from the heads up match and get some thoughts. By all rights it should have won me the tournament, had I not been robbed.

Blinds are 500/1000 with me in the BB. My stack is $9110 and bosox is $10890.

I make it 2000 to go with Kd6d, bosox calls with Qh5h.

Flop comes Qd, 3s, Td

So bosox flops top pair, I flop a flush draw with one overcard.

Bosox bets the minimum of $1000. I'm sitting at $7110 so I just move in over the top. I think bosox probably has middle pair or top pair with a very weak kicker. AQ or KQ is out of the question b/c he wouldn't have checked PF. This is important b/c I know I probably have 3 extra outs to the King in addition to my flush draw. So, was this semi-bluff a good play? I think it wins me the pot outright around 25% of the time, an even if I get called, it basically becomes a coinflip.

Any thoughts before I give the result?
