Default Should I bother at .02/.04 .05/.10?

I've been playing at these limits for about 2 weeks on Stars after having a downswing at .25/.50, and the level of play doe s not appear to be much different, although the two lowest limits mentioned in the title are obviously looser.

I don't want to move up because I want to avoid the suckouts as some say, because I know that being sucked out on is good, because it shows that you're doing something right. And I hardly suck out on anyone anymore so I guess that means I am improving(knowing how to extricate myself from losing situations?).

I am asking if I should move up to .25/.50 because is it really worth anyone's time to grind it out for 50 cents an hour, which is what I can do at .02/.04? I know I could probably increase that hourly rate if I moved up and I am wondering if this is just a waste of my life.

i started with $50 at .05/.10 on pstars and played .25/.50 when I had more than $100. i'm sure you can start a new bankroll if you happen to bust, so its up to you really. you won't learn anything at .02/.04 or .05/.10 that you can't learn at .25/.50.

.25/.50 pstars is a great lead in to the juicy party .50/1.00 games.

Thanks btspider.

Let's say that I start at .25/.50 on Stars next week with the requisite $150 bankroll.

Let's then say that by next March I can have that up to 300 dollars(very possible I think).

Will I then be ready for the Stars/Party .50/1 game? Is the Party .50/1 game a lot harder than the Stars .25/.50? Is it a lot harder than the Stars .50/1? The reason I ask is that the college I am at has blocked the ports for PartyPoker so I'd only be able to play on it on vacations.

Next year though(starting in September) I will be living off campus and have my own internet connection so I will be able to play on PartyPoker full time.

Thanks.

I've never played Stars .25/.50, but it's hard to imagine Party .5/1 being harder than ANY game. It is very soft. If you've played enough to build up a $300 BR and you're studied the right books, you should be able to crush this game.

In my experience, the Stars .5/1 is much tougher than the Party .5/1. They're two totally different games IMO.

Thanks for your response jrz.

What would you equate the .50/1 on Stars to on Party? Maybe the 1/2 or 2/4?

If Stars players are a lot harder I think I'd rather play on Party.

Try one of the other party skins like Empire or PokerNow. They might not be blocked and they're the exact same games.

Pstars .50/1 game sucks. Not enough tables and too tight in comparison to party. They're very similar to party 1/2 but with less complete morons. Party always seems to have one or two donators at every 1/2 table, I don't think you'll find the same ratio at pstars .50/1.

Don't spend much time on .05/.10, you'll develop bad habits. The money is too insignificant for people to behave the way they should in a real money game. Stay there until you learn the mechanics and move on. (unless you really suck) Read a couple good books for your level and apply them immediately to the pstars .25/.50 game. That, in addition to this site should be enough to get you on the winning track. If you bust out buy in again when you can afford it. Party .50/1 is easier than pstars .25/50 so once you build your BR you'll be ready for it without question.

Playing at these limits and moving up a level when you reach 300BB helps build discipline and such. When you've built your bankroll from the very bottom, then it'll be much harder to demolish your bankroll later on.
