Wouldn't the results/answers be more meaningful if this was done as a multiple of BB's or something?

No, a buck is a buck. You don't tip a dealer $75 just cause you're playing 75/150.

I tipped a poker dealer $10 one time on a $2200 pot.
I usually tip $1 if under $500 and sometimes $2 if more.
I did this to maintain the happy feelings that were going on at the table, not because I think the dealer earned it.

Ironically I won a $1000 pot last weekend where I sucked out on the turn (all in on the flop, me with an over pair other guy had set) and I tipped $2 and some guy says to the dealer
"If you give me one of those Id tip $20"

So I of course said "How much did the dealer give me the last hand when I lost to running 6s the guys only out(a 1/1000 shot)?
.....no answer

On a side not I once tipped a roulette dealer $35.... kind of. I bought $100 in singles, and he put the chip up signifying I had bought 100 nickles (500) when I cashed out what had become $900 I tipped 7 chips....... $7 to me but $35 as it were.

5 bucks once on a 500 dollar pot - sometimes i'll tip 2 if i've forgotten or if i pull in a bunch of small pots without tipping and then pull a much larger one

i bet bunky's answer is somewhere in the neighborhood of 300-400 dollars

(kidding, just having fun now )

Thanksgiving day a few years back, I was driving home from my brothers after the festivities and decided to hit the local casino for some blackjack.

Had a rockin' good session, so good, ridiculously good, and I'm small time. It was a holiday and all, and I was way up over my buyin, so after my last hand, I was going to toss the dealer a green chip ($25) and head out.

Before the dealer dealt the first hand of the new shoe, I said "I can either give this to you or you can bet with me, what'll it be?" He gave some statement about how I could do either, but he couldn't choose, so I bet it for him along with my hand.

He dealt us blackjack and $37.50 went in for the crew and I left on the winner.

At 15/30 I got dealt JJ twice in a row and flopped a set both times. The first one was a huge pot and it was a good dealer, so I tipped him $5. The second one I gave him $10 and told him his tip was going to double every time he consecutively dealt me a set of jacks.
Another time I had just moved from a tight 15/30 game to a very wild 8/16. It was 6-7 people to a flop, usually for 2-3 bets or more. I live straddled in and got Q8s. Of course it got capped many ways, I made my flush and took down a $400+ pot. Later in the same game (new dealer) I took down another huge pot with a set of kings. I went for the hit and run and left the game up over $600 from those two pots (it was getting late on Sunday night and I didn't really want to be there anymore). I tipped both dealers a little over $10 I think.
