Default rounders vs. reality

Posting this since it seems like every poker player is also a rounders fan and hence it's regularly discussed.

I've heard people say that it's the only realistic gambling movie ever made.

Well 2+2, what's your opinion?

Quite right, in real life no one would be stupid enough to turn down Famke Janssen throwing herself at you.

I'd say it's crap. Except for Joey Knish -- him I see at every 15-30 and up table everywhere.

I can see a little bit what they mean when calling it realistic. There is no supernatural ability to predict cards or reading tells.
I also think that the Teddy KGB tell is excusable to make the audience get it.
What I think is really unrealistic is that any player who had a clue about what poker was would risk his whole bankroll in a heads up game against a good opponent.
And that only because he managed to bluff Johnny Chan in one hand?

Still, think its a great movie - aron

Great movie, didn't catch KGB's cookie tell the first time I watched it.

Yeah, no way that'd ever happen. No [censored] way.

And this includes female poker players, by the way.

I met the guy who "claims" that he is the character they used to invent Knish. I put claim in quotes because everyone calls him Joey Bagels and the writers, who were regulars at the Mayfair, a now defunct club in NYC, apparently liked the name.
