Default T9s, flopping a flush

In my effort to bring VPIP up (14,38% after 40k hands, around 16% this month)...

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is Button with T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, CO calls, Hero calls, SB folds, BB checks.

Flop: (4.50 SB) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players)
BB bets, MP1 raises, CO folds, Hero 3-bets, BB calls, MP1 caps, Hero calls, BB calls.

Turn: (8.25 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, MP1 bets, Hero raises, BB folds, MP1 3-bets, Hero calls.

River: (14.25 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP1 bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 16.25 BB
Main Pot: 16.25 BB, between MP1 and Hero.

MP1 is TA-A, so after the flop cap I'm pretty much hoping he has a small set. On turn I'm starting to think QJs, A9s or something like that. On river I'm 99.5% sure I've lost but still call...

Think I overplayed a bit.

the only questionable part of this hand is the river call, which I don't particularly care for. he either went nuts with a set (unlikel7) or has a bigger flush. it's not all likely he bets into you with a baby flush on a paired board in this spot

if you were ever folding this hand on the button, that's terrible

you botched this hand pretty badly. your preflop call is bad. I'd call with Q9s and muck Q8s. these are not the kinds of calls you should be making to raise your VP$IP. your flop 3-bet is also bad. you have a drawing hand. you want people in, not out. getting a free card isn't that important.

If MP1 is TA-A, then I don't see how this can be possible.
That said, the Hero can be sure the villain's hand contains at least 1 heart higher than T.

Mmm, villain had A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], that I was very surprised to see... would've thought he'd raise that preflop.

I don't think the preflop call in the second hand is terrible. I probably want one more limper but it's close.

Don't worry about your VPIP, worry about obviously profitable situations that you may be missing. If you are around 15% you VPIP isn't a big leak.

Yeah, it's borderline. If you feel confident you can play it OK, go for it.

BTW, I like the way you played it.
