Preflop: Hero is CO with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, Hero raises, Button folds, SB calls, BB calls, UTG calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls. Flop: (12 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (6 players) SB checks, BB checks, UTG bets, MP2 calls, MP3 folds, Hero raises, SB folds, BB folds, UTG calls, MP2 3-bets, Hero... Have to think I'm up against MP2's trips. But I think I have to call to see if I can spike a Q. If MP2 bets a blank turn, do I fold? |

Many (most?) .5/1 players will play a 9 this way but would slowplay a 3. Also, you need to ask yourself what kind of a hand UTG is most likely to have limped with pf given his position: a hand containing a 3 or a hand containing a 9?
You're either way ahead or way behind on this board. I would cap the flop. If UTG keeps betting, I call down. If UTG checks to you on the turn I bet and go from there. |

i agree. at the very least you have to call here, but probably cap and call down depending on the turn and the action. you may be looking at MP2 w/ A3, but more likely he has 9-paint.

Capping and calling is close depending on your read of the player.
