Missed Check Raise?
Villain VPIP 21.88, PFR 6, Total Agg 0.69.
Given the 3-bet preflop, is it reasonable/profitable for me to try the check raise on the flop or later? Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Hero raises, UTG+1 3-bets, 3 folds, MP3 calls, 4 folds, Hero caps, UTG+1 calls, MP3 calls. Re: Missed Check Raise?
I don't know if I like the preflop cap. Based on the range of hands villan is likely to raise with and the fact you are out of position I would probably just call the 3 bet.
I think the rest of the hand looks fine. I like leading the flop better than check raising in this situation. |

Re: Missed Check Raise?
I just call the 3bet preflop- I personally dont like being 3bet by someone with a 6% PFR. As for missed checkraises, on what street? Villian's aggression level is very low, so there is too great a likelihood that he would only bet hands that beat you. Looks like he has JJ as thats got to be the only hand someone that passive would 3bet with and then not put in any bets/raises. I don't see him going for a check-raise with JJ. Nice hand.

[/ QUOTE ] In general someone who is raising preflop 6% of the time has pretty tight raise standards. Someone who is tight raising in general is likely to only 3 bet with a very strong hand. One that very likely has AQ dominated. |

Re: Missed Check Raise?
My reasoning is that a 6% PFR implies narrow range of 3betting hands. I guess 6% isnt that low, but I was thinking of it in terms of my PFR which is about twice that. Nevertheless I think its clear that his 3bet is not out of line and there is a high likelihood you are dominated. As zram said, position is also a factor in my preference for just calling.

Re: Missed Check Raise?
Someone with a low-ish PFR% is probably only 3-betting with a narrow range of hands. Most likely, JJ-AA or AK.
When you're holding AQ, thats trouble. |

Re: Missed Check Raise?
Yeah, my line is a little different here - call the pre-flop three-bet, check-raise the flop.
If you're feeling crafty, go for the quarter flownder or trifecta. |
