I don't see how you played it badly. I would of played it the same. If I didn't catch my 4 on the river i would of checked it down.

i would check the turn, unless he is bad and would call you down here with a queen.

pf, flop and river though I would play it the same.

Serious questions: Why bet $150 into a $100 pot on the river with that hand? Wouldn't you bet something lower to get a call?

I love the bet on the river. I dont like the bet on the turn.

Turn: ($46.40) 2 (2 players)
Hero bets $30, SB calls $30.

River: ($106.40) 4 (2 players)
Hero bets $150, SB calls $150.

Hmm, just looking over the flop too, why'd you pot it? Rainbow, only gutshots... This is pretty trivial but I'd bet 2/3 pot, so only 10 or 11. Very minor though.

I really like the river bet. Looks like a bluff. He's calling with a good ace, especially 6 handed...

I agree with FSU. Id check the turn, but everything else looks fine, not really sure what you think is so bad about the hand.

on the river, i would bet around 90. no decent player is going to confuse the overbet here with a bluff attempt. i think you fold out enough medium aces with that bet to forget it. remember, when he calls the turn, he is committing himself to a decent call on the river, so why compromise that by getting greedy. plus, there is a chance that he will raise your river bet with a slowplayed monster if you make a normal, 75-100 dollar river bet.

on the turn he (hero) should just shut down. if he has any chance of getting more money out of a queen, he has to check the turn and value bet the river small. even the chances of this line being +EV are small, so i would probably just shut down after the flop and fold to a turn bet.

the only thing i think is ok about this hand is the flop. but, like bobosfritos, i wouldnt bet exactly the pot. you arnt hopoing to fold out better aces here, and bad players make the mistake of calling weak hands (queens) too often if you "price them in".

The fact that Hero makes it seem like he doesn't want a call is exactly what makes it a good river bet...

only vs a certain type of opponent that has a certain type of hand. that certain type of opponent is int he majority at party, and usually he doesnt have that type of hand. so i think its a no brainer that overbetting here is being too tricky, and not the most +EV option.

Opponent played it very badly, if that's what you're asking.

As for you, bet flop, check turn, bet pot on river. Your overbet isn't that much bigger than the pot, so it's not awful.
