Default Worst WSOP play of all-time

There has been much discussion of whether the TOC was chopped (I believe it was chopped informally among four to six players, though it would be interesting to get Fossilman's take -- my understanding is he was not involved in the deal).

But the real issue is why a $2 million free-roll? IMO, this is a waste of at least $1 million. All of the players would have still played even if first place was $100,000. I can understand why ESPN and Harrah's would want the headline number to be in seven figures for publicity / marketing reasons. But why $2 million instead of $1 million? What possible benefit is there to giving away the extra million? Same players, playing just as hard for $1 million as $2 million. Do they gain a bigger audience because it's $2 million versus $1 million? I don't think so. So they mindlessly wasted $1 million.

Come on, people. It's obvious that the worst World Series Of Poker play of all-time was when Jack and Larry were dating the same girl, were meeting her at the Regal Beagle, and then Mr. Firley showed up and Jack had to pretend he was gay in front of the dumb blonde.

I'm going to take this thread seriously. I think the worst play at a final table was Farah's all-in with the jacks against Moneymaker in 2003. I can't believe he thought Moneymaker was bluffing.

Oh no, not even close. Worst I've ever seen is the old school one from like '90 or whatever that they show on ESPN classic with VVP's dad announcing. Down to 3 people, not exactly sure all of their names, but I think it is bonnetti who goes all in when he hits TPTK right into the chipleaders set. Of course this play isn't terrible 3 handed except the short stack was on life support and would have been out in a few hands anyhow. Perhaps someone else can fill in the details better (I usually hate these fuzzy posts,) but I'm at work, should be working, but moreso too lazy to look it all up....
