Given the lack of draws on the flop he is obviously calling you down with a made hand. Did he show you the Ace big that you were putting him on, or had he flopped trips and lost the use of his arms?

The preflop call looks pretty marginal out of position to me. One problem with the line you took that I see is the fact that on the turn it is a three way pot and you are betting big into both of them, it was raised preflop, they both called on the flop and there is an ace out there. Hazards should be able to narrow your range of hands considerably and possibly read you for the big hand you have. Maybe bet a little less on the turn to put some doubt into his mind about what you have $250.

is the pre-flop SOP for you? i'd never make that call except against truly horrible opponents.

there is a flush draw on the flop, and villain's play is consistent with a semi-steal hand like K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. betting the flop and turn against such a hand is obviously correct. (obviously the river action shows this is not the hand).

on the other hand, i'd be surprised if villain showed a flopped set. there is a flush draw out, and there are also straight possibilities.

if hero has a bluffy image, i'd say villain's most likely hand is AK.

I think the preflop call is fine and would play it just like this also. that may or may not be a good thing, though.

I woudln't be surprised to get shown a set. AJo is betting in a 3 way pot, he probably has a good made hand, villian will probably not put him on a flush draw, and thus not raise with his set.

I don't like the call preflop, but once we get passed that...was it a smart play to push on the river? He either has AK or 99 and you haven't really gotten much info from him outside of he likes his hand enough to call you down on the flop and turn. I'm interested in seeing the results and pondered why you would call out of position with A5 ooted.

I certainly would not limp unless I could stand a raise. folding here encourages my opponents to raise my limps with nothing.

okay, so he either has an ace, or a full house, right? with 99 when i check the river he will almost certainly bet a lot of money at me, and i'm not laying my hand down. if he has an ace it's likely he'll check behind if i check, but he might call me down given that he's decided to call 280 on the turn.
