Default Is this pre-flop cap too agressive?

UB .25/.5

I'm UTG+1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

It's the craziest UB .25/.5 table I've been at for ages, table average VP$IP is over 40, and MP3 has VP$IP of 45% (and PFR of 9%) and has been chatting it up big time about continually missing flops.

1 fold, I raise, 2 folds, MP3 3-bets, folded to me and I cap.

My thinking was his looseness implied I'm not neccessarily behind, and that it gave me the chance to take control if the flop is rags, potentially pushing him off a better hand.

Flop comes 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and I lead out.

Just wondering if I'm getting ahead of myself for these limits.

Thanks.

but against someone loose and possibly on tilt, i think AQo beats a lot of hands and is not dominated by many other combinations (AA - 3 KK - 6 QQ - 3 AK - 12).

I guess this move is acceptable. But it's highly player dependent, that's for sure.

The cap is incorrect.

What range of hands do you put a player with a PFR of 9 on? (He may be playing too many cards, but he's not necessarily a loose raiser).

My PFR is 8.95 and there is a zero percent chance that AQo would ever be ahead of me if I 3bet in this situation.

Apologies my post was meant to say I would NOT be capping..kinda makes more sense in the context of what I wrote about him NOT being a complete maniac..

Guys,

Thanks for the feedback. At the time I thought it may have been the wrong thing to do, but I did chuckle when he folded to my flop bet and showed A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. I told him what I had and he started going on about inexperienced players who don't know anyhting.

Needless to say, I didn't partake in any further chat.

My PF% for the last 4,000 has been 8.40, and I've been casually wondering why it decreased.

9.00 is not high.

Yes, those UB .25/.50 tables are getting very nice lately. I would still be playing them, but I wanted to move up, so I switched to Party. I will definitely be visiting the UB .25/.50 tables again, though.

Nak

P.S. That cap was pretty gutsy. On the other hand, it is sometimes easy to push people off hands at thesis tables. (Maybe not this lunatic, though.)
