Default Would anyone else make this read?

50NL Party Full Ring

Just sat down played played about 5 hands one of which was AA vs AA.

Two hands later I am dealt QQ in MP.

I 1st in the pot I raise to 4.

LP calls 4

BB raises to 25.

This is half my stack.

The overbet seemed like it was intended to stop the action and take the pot down right there. For this reason I put my opponent on JJ or TT or perhaps even a lower PP. I went with the read and pushed. He thought for quite a while which led me to believe my read was correct and I actually was hoping for a call. He eventually did call and showed me KK. Would anyone else make this play would you expect KK or AA to make his play.

His stack was a little more than 50. Covering me.

I would be more tempted to call if he raised all in rather than to $25.

The $25 seems to say that he wants you to push and the raise is high enough that you aren't really tempted to call it for your set.

QQ, JJ, ... are weak all-ins pre-flop unless you think your opponent is trying to steal. you're only a coin flip vs AK, and you're dead money to AA, KK. it's hard to let go, but generally I don't like to get involved in all-in pre-flop action unless i hold AA, KK, or AKs.

It's great that you thought about what his raise might mean, and I agree with you that it could have indicated something like TT, but I think you got married to your read too early. If you're right, you win a bundle of cash and if you're wrong you lose about the same. Given that big PF reraises from all but the loosest players generally indicate AA, KK, and maybe AK, I think it's wishful thinking to say that this raise represents a TT-type hand at least 50% of the time. (Well, OK, you only need to be right about 47% of the time here but you know what I mean.) I would have dropped it.

never get involved in situations where you're either a big dog or a slight favorite

totally player dependant. If he's a loose raiser it's an easy push if you view him as reasonable I think you can fold. Not knowing anything and you're playing on party I'm probably pushing like 50% and folding 50%.

Push with KK or AA, fold anything else unless villain is demented or $25 is his stack (in which case consider calling with QQ, AK, possibly JJ.)

Reraising all-in with QQ is a bad habit you'll need to rid yourself of before you move to bigger limit NL.
