Default Another moving from 3/6 to 15/30

hi guys, im taking the plunge and gonna try the 15/30 finally. I've 4 tabled 3-6 for a while now and have done pretty well so I think it's time for me to give the big game a shot and see how I do.

In the past I remember seeing threads of a couple players making the move from 3-6 to 15-30 and was wondering if anyone had any links to them? Would like to read em to see what I can pick up from em.

Or would appreciate any advice or info anyone can give on the difference in the games, etc. or any other info for that matter.

Reason for moving is games at Party for 5-10 full and 10-20 full suck. I often play at night and often it is just a bunch of tight rocks at the tables there.

Thanks

If you have the bankroll data mine the tables for a while and play one or two tables and get a feel for how the game plays. I'd suggest having 500BB's before trying the level, simply because the high variance means early 100BB+ swings aren't unlikely.

Have you tried the 5/10 6-max? Usually more loose than full. Also, how about some of the other poker sites? Too many to list, but many of them have very loose and profitable 5/10 tables as well.

Seems to me that jumping from 3/6 to 15/30 is such a huge jump, I would be worried about your BR.

The 5/10 (10 handed) on party is great. Plenty of money there for the taking. Play almost every day and do quite well. Plenty of action but not crazy. Mostly loose passive.

yea I tried 5-10 6 Max and I didn't like it that much. My results are WAY better in full games.

I was thinking try it and if my bankroll goes south by about $4000 go back to smaller stakes and win it back, then try again.

mdelcorso, wow really? do you use table selection? I always sit at a 5-10 table at Party and 9 times out of 10 it seems like a fold party, more so then any other stakes at party. 10-20 as well.

i'm gonna have to agree with mdelcorso on this one. i've been playing PP 5/10 for about a month now and i personally like it much better than 3/6. yes, there are definitely more rocks at this limit, but you just have to know how to play them. it's all about selective aggression and putting lots of pressure on your opponents when you sense weakness. just make sure your raise and fold buttons work. i also steal a lot of blinds from anywhere from MP3 to the button when it gets folded to me. but if you have the bankroll for 15/30, go for it, i dont really know how that game is like. good luck wherever you end up!

I've been told by several winning 15/30 players that the skills you get in the 6max games will serve you very well in the 15/30. just something to think about. I feel like learning 6max is helping my game a lot.

yea it is very helpful. I played 6 Max for a few months, I just wasn't getting as good results as I get 10 handed so I moved back to 10. 10 handed I've done over 3BB/100 for a while and I like those results better.
