rake
Has anyone come up with a formula to determine the rake a casino has taken from you, individually, for a given session or group of sessions? Something like
(hands/hour) x (avg rake per pot) x (hours played) x (10%) I would put the hands per hour on about 30 (?) The 10% represents the number of pots the avg. individual would win on a 10 person table. I know i'm making some pretty big assumptions here, but i'm just looking for a rough estimate. I'm going to post this in Probability as well. Any input is appreciated. iash |

Re: rake
Anywhere from 30-35 hands/hr is a good estimate probably.
If you're a winning player you're probably winning less than 10% of the pots, more like 7-8%. If you're a losing player you're probably winning more like 12%. Avg rake/pot is tough since a lot of pots won't get max raked, but you can come up with a decent estimate based on where and what games you play. |

Re: rake
Good point on the winning player/losing player pot percentage. The losing player plays more hands and wins more smaller pots, while the winning player plays less hands and wins bigger pots.
I was playing 2/4 no limit with a 10% rake maxing at $4. The rake was $4 nearly every hand. iash |

Re: rake
okay, i don't play much NL so I have no idea what an avg rake would be in that game.

Re: rake
All of the NL at foxwoods is time charge. Is this not true at other places?

Re: rake
i know the 1/2 NL at the borg in AC is a raked game (not sure if the 2/5 is). The only NL I've played is in NYC where everything is time chage which is why I said I had no idea what the avg rake would be in these games.
