Default Secession: Benefits and Drawbacks?

Just wondering what your thoughts are.

Many of the benefits I think are obvious. So what are the drawbacks and how big are they?

Well the drawbacks to the Republicans are that they would be living in squalor since they would only get the "red" states.

I agree, but I mean what would the benefits be to every side, and the drawbacks for every side.

The size of our military would decrease and we'd have to coordinate with other countries more (is that really a big drawback though?) And then the cost and logistics of switching to two countries would be huge.

But other than that, I can't think of much.

The red states being the ones with the food production, the energy (i.e., gas, oil and coal), and the modern auto plants (i.e., Japanese). The blue states being the ones with movie studios, TV networks, amusement parks, computer game developers, and banks.

Probably would make things a lot more ineffecient in being able to chase criminals, you would have less resources to divvy up, junk like that, y'know.

The size of the blue state military would decrease to near zero. Most military bases are in red states, except for west coast naval bases, and the military would philosophically support the red states. Perhaps the blue states could out-source defense to the French, since they don't seem to be doing much with their armed forces?

There is a rise in military contractors as of late.

The blue states plan to use the money in the banks to buy food and energy production from the red states. They take dollars still I assume?

As long as the dollars have pictures of Jesus on them.

Seriously, anyone who talks about wanting part of the country to secede from the rest is part of the Really Angry Left rather than just the normal Angry Left.
