Dell Inspiron laptop, screen blanks out after 5 minutes - any ideas?

Yesterday, just after starting an s&g, my laptop screen goes black. I can hear the chips bet, the cards shuffle. Power still on. I reboot & same thing happens - over & over. I reset the power settings so the screen will never blank, but the problem continues. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm thinking that either the screen or the video card is going bad. Or could a virus do this? Thanks for any comments (Dell tech support did not know how I could fix it without sending it to them. No computer for several weeks!!).

Just as a shot in the dark, try flexing the screen a little next time it blanks out (grab the top left corner and the top right corner and push\pull them in opposite directions). There was a whole series of Dells that would do this for a while.h
