Default QJs in CO - coldcall ok?

UTG has VP$IP 33% and PFR 18%.

Absolute Poker 1/2 Hold'em (6 handed)

Preflop: Hero is CO with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG raises, MP folds, Hero calls, Button calls, SB calls, BB calls.

Is a PFR of 18% high enough to justify the cold-call or should I only do it after someone else has called? I felt pretty sure BB would call since his VP$IP is over 60%.

Flop: (10 SB) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB checks, BB bets, UTG raises, Hero calls, Button folds, SB calls, BB calls.

Eh... I don't know... bleh?

Turn: (9 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets, SB folds, BB calls, UTG calls.

River: (12 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero checks.

I didn't bet here because a draw just got there and I didn't want to be raised by a fancy-playing overpair/KJ/AJ. Weak?

Say I betted and one of the others check-raises me and the other folds, do I call?

Final Pot: 12 BB

Fold pre-flop, 3-bet the flop.

3-bet the flop to get heads-up with UTG and his (hopefully) AK, AQ, AT or pocket-pair?

3-bet the flop to get HU (or severely punish drawers) with UTG with any hand(JJ or QQ would suck of course). Even if he dominates you at that point you stand a better chance of taking it down at showdown.

Yes, this flop is fold or raise for me. I think it's worth investing an extra SB to see where you stand.

I think i'd like the cold-call a little more if there was one other player in already. As far as the hand goes, you definetly need to 3-bet here. You have great position and some pretty damn good equity, so take advantage of it. Also, you need to bet this river.

Assuming your post flop play is good, I like the call with QJs in shorthanded games.
I think on the flop, you have to three-bet. A lot of guys who play short handed will raise with 2nd pair, or ace king, looking to thin the field and get free cards. You have position, and can take a free card if you pick up a draw.
On the turn, if its checked to me, I bet. Its a total blank and you have to charge draws. if check-raised, it depends from who. But you likely will be beat if they can check-raise you on the turn. Paying off or folding is debatable. If the check-raiser is very aggressive, i pay off because he may be raising with a worse jack.
River, I would probably bet. No one has shown that they can beat you. you can get paid from a ten or worse jack.

I don't like your cold call. I would either fold or 3-bet to try to isolate. QJs also plays well in a multiway pot but you have no garantee that will happen, you can cold call after a few cold callers. As you found out yourself, this hand is easily dominated. If you can't play this hand well postflop you should muck it preflop. On the flop you I would probably 3-bet. This is a decent flop for you and the raise from UTG could be overcards or a smaller PP. You also have some backdoor draws and you can take a free card on the turn when you want one. The turn is easy, I would bet the river. A J would have bet the turn so you probably have the best hand.

Yes, what draw? Q9? 79? not very likely at least not from UTG. AJ and KJ would have bet the turn for sure.
