Default 2000 old vegas casino chips for $200???

Hey all, been reading the forums for the past two days straight. Thanks for being here.

I have a hookup in LV who can get me this deal. I don't have any choice on color or from what casino they'll be from, but I do have a choice of Denoms. I will be holding a NLHE tourney at my home on a regular basis starting with one table of 6-8 people. Along with other evenings of other games. Hopefully in the future I will have multi-table NLHE tourneys. I was thinking of this as my set....

600 @ $5
500 @ $10
500 @ $25
200 @ $50
100 @ $100
50 @ $500
50 @ $1000.....

for my set of 2000. Total value $115,500.

Any suggestions or improvements would be GREATLY appreciated.

Also what do you think the start up should be? Maybe...

40 @ 5 = 200TC
20 @ 10 = 200TC
20 @ 25 = 500TC
10 @ 50 = 500TC
1 @ 100 = 100TC... for a total of TC1500 per entry?

I don't know I have no idea.

I have searched and read (on these and others) and still would like some specific input. Thanks in advance.

Assuming this is for real, and isn't a slightly less obvious advertisement, I'd say lose the $10s & $50s (it's never a big deal to put 2 chips in instead of 1 - I think denom multiples should generally be 4 or 5.

Conventional wisdom is 4-3-2-1 from lowest to highest, which would give you:

800 $5s = $ 4,000
600 $25s = $ 15,000
400 $100s = $ 40,000
200 $500s = $100,000

Gives you $159,000 (ask you buddy to toss in an extra 1k chip to round it off ). You could split the top level between $500s and $1k chips, maybe 150-50, would take you up over $200k.

As for starting chips, you might find 40 $5s too much - depends on the blind structure. You can get a lot of info at Home Poker Tourney

"Assuming this is for real, and isn't a slightly less obvious advertisement"

Definately not an "advertisement" I don't even think i get anyone else "in" on this deal.

"who's your hookup, i'll stop by and check them out and take some pictures."

would you really be able too? I'll try get his address, but personally i think he is just "connected" in some way, I really don't believe he has a business where he sells chips and stuff.

"Do you know AT ALL what they look like? I would be a little skeptical until I saw some sample or something..."

I have no idea, I am working on that as we speak.

Maryfield48...that is what you would get if it was you? I only ask cuz this seems like one hell of a deal and I'd like to capitalize on it by getting a pretty versatile set that can be used for our tourneys and for some regular old cash games. Definately do not need 1's and some big ones would be nice.

p.s how do you guys add the cool little box around the "quote?" like in goblins post.
