Default New @ Pacific. Q\'s and observations

I started playing at Pacific Poker this weekend. I have played the last year or so at Party. I played .5/.10 to get used to the software than played mostly 1/2 and 2/4 thereafter.

First a few observations:

I was a little disappointed that the play is not as awful as I had hoped based on many comments at this board. The play might be just a little worse than party at the same levels, maybe.

On the positive side it wasn't quite as slow as I feared, again based on comments here. I'd guesstimate that I was playing about 60-75% the speed of party.

Questions:

1)cannot take notes?

2)cannot see hand history? Or import to pokertracker?

Yeah Pacific's players are bad, but you will never find tables as bad as the worst ones on Party. On Party you can find tables full of players spewing free money if you look hard enough. I would think it's just a sheer numbers thing.

You cannot take notes on Pacific. You can see your hand hisrtory for only the last 750 hands, and cannot import to PT or receive text HH's.

No and no, from what I can tell. Trust me, you'll see plenty of bad play if you're at the right tables. Playing there has been infuriating for me so far. Just a bad bunch of sessions overall, I can't get a hand to hold up at all. Just like playing in a real casino!

Their software is terrible, with the lack of multi-tabling, no hand histories, etc.

How about THIS NEW GLITCH that happened to me yesterday. There was a fish floating around giving away free money. I scored the seat to his left and was biding my time to take a crapload of his money. Suddenly I got disconnected, you know one of those random Pacific disconnections.

So, I log back on, and go to the table, but wait! It STILL SHOWS ME IN THE SEAT, disconnected! But now I cant sit down in that seat because I am still there? WHAT??

So I had to grab another open seat, on the other side of the table!

I was sitting in two seats at once on the same table lol!

After a couple orbits, "I" left my "disconnected" seat and someone else got the prime seat to the left of the idiot!

FCUK PACIFIC!

Yeah, I forgot to mention I did get disconnected 3 times in maybe 5-6 hours of play. But did not get to play with my clone though.

Regarding the hand histories...how do I see those "750"? On party I often pull up the hand just completed to see all the hands shown down (but not flipped) to get a look into the madness of the fishes mind. Can I do that on Pacific? How?

lol. You are going to love this. No you cannot see your hand histories unless you get up and ACTUALLY leave the table. And then when you do, Pacific doesnt show you what the mucked cards were anyway.

I started playing Pacific about 2 weeks ago. I found the site to be much slower. Your comment about being 60-75% of the speed of Party is close and a big difference. You're playing about 20-25 less hands per hour. That adds up. You can only play 1 table there, no player notes, not compatible with PT, etc.

As for the quality of players, it's not uncommon to see flop %'s in excess of 70%, even at 3/6. I've made this comment in another thread and someone replied that Pacific inflates the %, but didn't provide any support. While I've never sat and really tracked the % myself, it doesn't appear to be too far off. I've sat at a number of 2/4 and 3/6 tables were most flops were seen by at least 5 or 6 players.

With only 1 weekend's play there, I wouldn't be disappointed by the play. I have experienced my share of suck outs and it's going to happen. There aren't any starting hands that have a zero lose rate. Played at a 3/6 table and watch a guy in MP1 or MP2 call 2 cold preflop with 6-3os only to hit two 3's in the flop! This stuff will happen. That 6-3os guy made around $400 during the time I was at the table. It was amazing, but I highly doubt the individual is a long term winner.

Go to the Games History. You can see the hands replayed, but as mentioned before, you do not get to see the hole cards of the other players that went to the river. They have to show. Also, you can not do this while seated at a table.

If experienced a # of disconnects as well, which is funny when I have DSL. The other problem I've experienced is being on the waiting list, having the table pop up, picking a seat, and then the Add Me to Waiting List button stay on the screen. It then interfers with the action buttons, making difficult and annoying.

I'm not dissappointed because they sucked out on me...as crazy as this sounds I'm dissappointed that they DIDN'T (much). I was hoping to have all sorts of junk hands calling my premium hands to the river. When they occaisionally hit, fine, it keeps em coming back.

Not to say the play was good. It just wasn't much worse than Party.

I actually won money. I deposited $400 to get the max $100 bonus, then built the total BR to about $540.

I'll keep playing there til the bonus clears (how do I track that?) and then decide whether or not to stay.

Thanks guys for the info.
