Default Foxwoods $50-$100

I was playing tight (huh?) and hadn't played a hand in literally 2 hours. I posted blinds and that was pretty much it. A loose aggro kid (LAK) open raised in LP and I 3-bet with 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in the CO. We took the flop headsup. The action went like this:

Flop: Check, bet, call.
Turn: Check, bet, call.
River: Check, bet, think-think, "Do you have ace king?", "Probably", fold.

The very next hand LAK raised and I 3-bet again, but this time with 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. The SB (an older gentleman that likes to play and was pretty timid), BB (an asian gentleman that has taken 3 or 4 beats in a row and seems to be at wits end) and LAK called.

FLOP: 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Everyone checked to me and I monologue, "I read a book that told me to bet this flop." Everyone called.

TURN: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

SB checked, BB bet, LAK folded. Your decision.

Clear fold and I suggest you don't talk during your hands. Both times you seemed to encourage your opponents to play the exact way you didn't want them to, unless there is some higher level thinking going on.

Wow, yea duct tape that, you are getting the worst possible reactions to your table talk. And turbo muck that turn with your second nut low gutshot draw.

I was there for this hand, sitting to Steve's immediate left.

At first I looked at the hand and thought the play was quite odd/bad. but the metagame impliciations of the play were substantial.

I'll let Steve detail the results and their impact on the game. I'll just say this play earned Steve a nice stack of pretty green chips over the next hour.
