Seattle Poker Breakdown...
What do Seattle players think of the cardroom selection.
Here's what I've noticed. Muckleshoot: Wide variety of games, sometimes Omaha, usually Stud, always hold 'em. The 2-4 games here can be pretty tight, but you're more likely to come across an absolute beginner. The 4-8 games tend to be looser. I like playing stud here, and usually do very well at the 1-4, 1-8 stud, although, in the past two years hold 'em has all but taken over most tables. I've watched the higher limit games, but don't have the bankroll to play, even though I think I could do okay. 20-40, 30-60 is common, I've seen 50-100. Tulalip: The new casino has a nice poker room, lots of tables and usually some variety. The games are pretty loose. They have a 100 max buy NL table I'm going to play in soon. Diamond Lil's: Usually have Omaha Hi/Lo here, I usually like Omaha, but this game has a kill and is brutal. Some pretty decent players seem to play at Lil's, they have 4/8 to 10/20 hold em usually. I've played the 6/12 here and it is quite loose, but people seem to know what they are doing. The 4/8 game has a mix of players and tends to be loose. Silver Dollar in Renton: They now run a full time 6-12 spread game here w/ 1/2 blinds. It is interesting, and sometimes a great game, other times a very tough game. I like to play here on Fri or Sat night, usually you get some gamblers in here and the pots get very big. Some players here are quite good and honestly, I don't trust a few of the dealers. Golden Nugget Renton: Usually 3/6 Hold-em. These games aren't that great, every once in a while you'll get a fish, but most of the time just regulars and some decent players. I haven't played at Goldies, Freddies Club the Silver Dollar in Sea-tac or Everett. |

Re: Seattle Poker Breakdown...
Tulalip is non-smoking, and also has a $200 max buy-in no-limit game.
Parkers usually has a couple tables of 4-8, a couple tables of 8-16, and 12-24 on weekends. The Hideaway just went non-smoking, but is pretty dead these days. |

Re: Seattle Poker Breakdown...
Not much chance of Omaha 8 at the muck, I haven't seen it in a year or so. Sometimes the Stud8 game goes but that's normally a nit game. Just as an example I played a hand there with a 7high straight and a wheel on the river versus a player with an 8high straight and a 6, huge pot. After tip I netted -$2.

Re: Seattle Poker Breakdown...
Actually, they've recently been trying to spread the omaha game. They've been succeeding a bit too. I think it's the 4-8 game.
But it has been quite some time before they started trying it. b |

Re: Seattle Poker Breakdown...
Great break down. Where would you recommend some one new to B&M go (i.e. who has the best 2/4 or 3/6 games)?
Thanks, ~CT |

Re: Seattle Poker Breakdown...
Depends on where you live.
A good start is Tulalip or the Muckleshoot. Both will likely have a 2-4 game going and plenty of tables. The buffet @ Tulalip is very good, large selection and great food, so I'd recommend going if you want to make a night of it. |

Forgot to Mention Kenmore Lanes in, well, Kenmore. 1 or 2 3-6 games usually, and I heard it is very loose but very smokey.

Re: Seattle Poker Breakdown...
I'll look you up next time I'm at the Muckleshoot, although, I'm sure I've played w/ you before. I used to be a 4/8 junkie there.

Another place, not yet mentioned, is the "Drift On Inn". They only spread 3 tables, but if you can put up with the smoke and drunkeness, you won't find worse players on a Fri. or Sat. night.
