Default pokernow.com top30

http://www.pokernow.com/articles/top30.htm

I found (the link is on the front page) a good looking preflop strategy for full ring limit holdem (gives a good idea for other forms too). I think I will try it and see if I might beat the games this time.

uhm...I hope you are kiding, the advice on that page is pretty worhtless if you actually want to develop poker skills. Instead of blowing more of your money "trying to beat the game this time". spend it on a good poker book

Default It\'s just ok

My opinions are based on what I've read from Sklansky, Miller, Malmuth, and Jones...

"Hands with one high card and one medium or low card are extremely week (even if they are suited) and should only be played if you want to donate money to the pot"

- so it's saying to muck Axs from middle or late position with 4+ limpers in??

"If you miss the flop do not see the turn card unless the pot is very large and you have the nut straight or flush draw"

- so if the flop is 9,10,2r .. I'm supposed to muck 78 unless the pot is ginormous?

"Do not raise with pocket pairs under JJ since you are really hoping for lots of players and to hit trips on the flop"

-what's wrong with raising with 10's from late position with 0-2 limpers in?

"If a low limit game the average winning hand is usually two pairs so be careful if your hand is weaker than this"

No. Most low limit games like 1/2 are filled with calling stations. You can usually river bet your top pair good kick for value if the board isn't too scary. The above statement is promoting weak tight play.
