How would you rule?
Robert's Rules Says:
" The First or second card of the hand has been dealt face up or exposed through dealer error " Card is dealt side ways & exposed to 3 players of 10. Player wants to play the his card, we enforce the above rule on player . What would you have done? |

Re: How would you rule?
It can't be selectively enforced. If you want to change the rule to read "the player has the option of playing the exposed card, otherwise it becomes a misdeal" that's up to you.
If it's the third or fourth card, does the player get the option of making it the burn card or keeping it? Oone game I've played in has done that in the past |

Re: How would you rule?
Why would you want to play a card everyone saw? It's a clear misdeal. Dealer needs to lay off the sauce and concentrate.

Dealer needs to lay off the sauce and concentrate. [/ QUOTE ] Wow, I guess you've never misdealt in your life. In which case you've probably never dealt. I know you're joking around, but seriously misdealing happens. And I have seen several cases where a player wanted to play a card that others had seen. |

Re: How would you rule?
This happens a lot in home games I am sure. The way we have it is if the card is exposed because of dealer fault, then the card MUST be replaced. If it is the player's fault, he MUST keep it. This takes any ambiguity out of the situation and removes the "do you want to keep it" problem. The only quirk comes up when a card is dealt to a player and it kind of lands on a player's hand and flips over. Then its the dealer's fault, but again, no options.

Re: How would you rule?
I would say tough! The Deal has to rule and say that it is a misdeal. Don't give the player the option and then take it back because he will want it even more. Be firm and tell him that is the way the cookie crumbles.
