Default What makes a 2+2er... other than simply having a registered name?

I am posting this in this forum because it gets the most readers.

Are we all simply 2+2ers because we have a registered name? Sometimes I want to call myself a 2+2er, but wait to think if I have contributed enough or have been a member long enough to have that title.

My personal contributions aside... do any of you have criteria as to who you view as a 2+2 peer, and someone who just has a registered name? Anyone else ever think about this?

Most 2+2ers do not know how to spell "wierd" and "definately" [sic].

Therefore, most 2+2ers are stupid.

THe above person is a good example of being registered and not a real 2+2er but of a troll I looked at all of his posts and he has contributed less then nothing just flames.

generally when i'm at a poker table and somebody identifies themself as a 2+2'er i'm thinking this guy is a knowledgable winning player and is probably one of the top two players on this table.

there are of course some 2+2ers who simply are not good at poker while other 2+2ers are very good at poker and deserve their own little ranking themselves. but in general, if you average it all out, it usually equals to a good poker player.

A 2+2er is anyone who posts here.

Someone who plays like a 2+2er is certainly something more. A 2+2 player has basic understanding of odds, implied odds, ev and so on. Also, he has something more, the ability to make creative and deceptive plays and the ability to recognize and outthink and outplay other competent players. There are certainly varying degrees to that last part and it is not always apparent but it is important. Basically, a 2+2 player plays GOOT! as they say.

Lastly, in reference to your assumption that this forum gets the most views, while that may be true, the posters on this forum are some of the most ignorant, stubborn and herd-driven. The BEST posters rarely visit this slum. So, yes you are gonna get quantity here, but, in poker especially, quality is what is important.

For one to become a "made memeber of 2 + 2" one must be sponsored by a made member. Once you are sponsored you must perform the 2 + 2 indotrination requirements.

The top requirements are:

1) Declare unyielding love for David "the authority" Sklansky

2) Promise to defend Mason against all detractors - very important

3) Denounce the rgp forum as a Gossip Column and nothing more - you must mean it.

4) Hang Gary Carson in effigy. If you really hang him you get extra points

5) Laugh every time you hear Mike Caro's name used in conjunction with poker strategy.

6) Make at least one poster quit poker and go to college to obtain a math PHD. - I did this with Jim Brier and recieved the 2 + 2 award for most productive member of 2003.

There are lots more requirements but these 6 are musts and you cannot be an official member of 2 + 2 until you complete them. Once all the reqirements are met you must meet with Matt Sklansky and declare yourself a member for life by performing the blood brother ritual of cutting your wrist and mixing your blood wih Matt's. Then the only way out is ---I'm sure you can figure that out.
