Default Lay Down AA on a non-scary board?

Party 15/30

THis is my 2nd hand at the table. I won a $1,000 pot on my first hand when my set of deuces got capped on the flop and turn 5 ways, only to see the other raiser fold on the river. Now I get AA 2 off the button, and there is a raise 3 to my right, and a 3 bet on my immediate right. I cap and the wild raiser from the 1st hand calls 4 and an EP limper calls 3, 5 of us see the flop. Flop is T 8 4, 2 spades, I do not have the A spades. There is a bet and a raise in front of me, and I 3 bet. 2 folds and now the bettor caps. We both call. Turn is another 4, no flush. Bet and raised to me, I just call, 3 bet and capped before getting back to me. My feeling is that I'm against TT and a terribly overplayed KK, but it's going to cost me $90 more minimum to get to a showdown. Whats my play?

THe 2 guys still in the hand were not involved in the previous hand and I have no notes on either of them.

Don't fold.

I don't know if you are good or not but spend the $90 bucks.

Like xxxxx said, you're either way ahead or way behind. It would help to know which people starting betting and raising on the flop, whether it was the cold callers or raisers. If it's down to 3 of you, I think your hand is good and that you're possibly against AsKs/AsQs and QQ/KK or similar. Hope it turned out in your favor.

Sorry I guess I wasn't too clear on that. EP raised pre-flop, bet and capped the flop and bet and 3 bet the turn. MP 3 bet pre-flop, raised teh flop, and raised and capped the turn.

Yeah spend the money. The first hand they capped it without having trips -- so maybe they are doing it again.

Even if you are only good 20% of the time, this play is a big winner.

I don't play online so cannot say for sure, but my experience is that in this situation somebody has a big hand and AA is still just one pair.

hey david - I would pay the money here, I know it's painful, and by all means - cry like a little girl as you do it, it wouldn't nearly amount to the tears you would shed if you laid down the best hand.

Just pray that the table has gone crazy.

It's hard to make sense of the action the way that you posted it, but it's a fold against unknowns.

The pot is pretty big already. I say pay the money and see. I would have to believe that two pair is good here. Pay and pray.

Hi David,

I think you shouldn't fold here. This game is so crazy sometimes that it's rarely correct to fold an overpair just because there's a ton of action. Besides, that 4 on the turn just let you suck out on T8.
