Re: How badly did I butcher this hand?
my default play...
Always bet the turn, fold to raise if your bet is called, bet a small blocking amount at the river or check-call/check-fold depending on the looseness of the opponent |

Re: How badly did I butcher this hand?
I think that is the play I usually make here, but on this one I thought this: by betting the turn, I let him fold worse hands that are probably drawing to 0 or 3 outs (It totally didn't register with me at the time that there was a two-flush on the board. I was multitabling, so I did'nt make a plan for the river. When I got there, I realized that I'd be sick if he moved in, so I made the blocking bet. Would the way I played it be acceptable had there been a rainbow flop?

Re: How badly did I butcher this hand?
I would bet the turn and river and fold to a raise in either case. You could very easily be up against a lower kicker in a party game that will call you all the way down. You can keep the turn and river bets to a medium size if you are more comfortable with that type of blocking play. But make his kicker or draw pay. Two pair or a set will probably raise the turn.
