Default 15-30 live game too tight on the flop?

15-30 live game 9 handed. Unknown player raises in early position, I make it 3 bets with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] folded around to the raiser who calls. Flop is Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Ep player bets pretty quick, and I fold. My thinking here is the player is putting me on A-K and betting a better hand than mine. If the player has A-Q or K-Q I'm almost dead.
Very next hand I pick up 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and open raise in middle position. Both blinds call. Flop is 10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] j [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Small blind who is an unknown player bets, bb folds and I fold.
Am I playing too tight here?
