What Is This Forum For?
I don't understand what posts are supposed to go in this forum. I can place most of the threads right now into more specific forums where they'd be more appropriate:
Inducing a bluff check-raise, or raise - mid high LHE I am a losing poker player (gambler), what can I do with TAXES? - Stock Market What to do with all my FPP's????? - Internet 2+2 Private Table 5//10 on Party at 10PM Tonight - Internet How Many Unique hands in hold'em - Probability Any place to play in NY City area? - Home Poker Cool Poker Painting - News Views Gossip $5000 headsup tournys on PokerStars - Internet |

[ QUOTE ]
Inducing a bluff check-raise, or raise - mid high LHE [/ QUOTE ] I always saw that forum more for specific hand discussions, as opposed to general hold'em discussion. Sure, this sort of thing won't apply as much to low limit games, but it won't apply much to a lot of mid limit games either (being so dependent on knowing your opposition), so I picked the forum that seems to be more about general tactical discussion with regard to hold'em. Yeah, your other points are legit, and aren't even arguable as belonging here or not. ~D |

Re: What Is This Forum For?
I skipped a bunch of threads because I didn't want to have to read them and find out what they're about, and plus it wasn't as obvious where they'd go. However, I don't see any threads which can't go somewhere else, where you'd say "DAMN, wish we had a General forum to put this in." As with your post, I guess it could go here but it could just as easily go in mid high stakes LHE.

Re: What Is This Forum For?
I have to agree that that forum seems like a bizarre place to choose.
As does this choice: [ QUOTE ] I am a losing poker player (gambler), what can I do with TAXES? - Stock Market [/ QUOTE ] Who on earth would go to the stock market forum for a question on taxes? Except all the stock brokers maybe. |

Re: What Is This Forum For?
What i'd like to see is separate forums for limit, PL and NL.
Edit: I take that back, i just noticed there ARE forums for those now |

Re: What Is This Forum For?
I think you could put it in NVG.
On a semi-similar note...a lot of the posts in the Poker-Theory forum have nothing to do with Poker-Theory and I suspect were posted there primarily because it's the forum at the top of the screen. |

Re: What Is This Forum For?
How 'bout a nano limit forum. Seems my hands for nickels and dimes don't fit in sometimes.

Re: What Is This Forum For?
This forum used to be for the stuff that ought to go in N,V,G when N,V,G got destroyed by the "What's wrong with the SS forum ?" thread.
It's also the best place for all of the various Quests that people post. Except for your "Going Pro Journal," which you posted in the wrong forum... Now it's mostly just crap, but so are most of the forums these days. I'm not sure whether it's Greg winning the WSOP or just a lot of poker on TV, but something has increased the signal to noise ratio a lot on here since May, and it was moving in the wrong direction far before that. scrub |
