Riot police on the diamond.
Why are pigs in riot gear lining the field at Yankee stadium? Did the crowd really seem that unruly? They did toss a few baseballs on the field because Arod got caught cheating but bringing out the bacon brigade is a bit much. This is what a police state looks like.

Re: Riot police on the diamond.
So I'm not credible? Your saying police weren't on the field at Yankee stadium? My bad, I guess parading stormtroopers on the ball field is status quo. Yea that's it. We should spend taxpayer money on presenting a police presence at all ball games even though there is no precedent of mass violence at major american sporting events. The government needs to make sure we peasants know who's in charge.

Re: Riot police on the diamond.
The only pigs I saw were those that chose to throw baseballs onto the field because they were disappointed that cheating wasn't allowed.

Re: Riot police on the diamond.
What did the police do wrong? At the rioting here at UMass after the game people said they hated the cops and sometimes yelled at them, but they all seemed like nice people to me.

People who call the police "pigs" don't have much credibility. [/ QUOTE ] Where Im standing people who dont call police pigs dont have much credibility. Of course I prefer the Brit slang for the police which is: "the filth." Usage = "I got stoped and searched by the filth yesterday." |

Re: Riot police on the diamond.
People still call cops pigs? I thought that went out in the 70's. Back then, a friend who was a cop, had a lapel pin that said P I G Pride/Integrity/Guts. I always thought that was pretty cool.

I watched most of the game, but heard the last 1.5 innings on the radio. SOmeone from the crowd throw something onto the field. Apparently, the item thrown raised some concern, so the called the cops onto the field.
