Default HP and Excel (Slightly OT)

My PC is an HP and I guess they come with the Works spread sheet rather than Excel. There are a few Poker Excel templates that I want to download.

My question is, Can I download and excel file and convert it to Works or do I need to install Excel? If I need Excel what is the cheapest way to get it?

Works is far more weak than Excel, you can open Excel files in Works but only losing major part of formulas used in spreadsheet, and only 1 page per time.
Look for free Office-compatible software (I know Suite602 and probably there are several more products) but they are not 100% good for any Excel file and you will probably encounter problems with it.
I think cheapest way to buy "true" MS Excel is to buy it separatedly from Office (I know it was possible to buy Excel box version earlier).

Try OpenOffice, at Open Office. It's highly compatible with MS Office (I can't swear to 100%, but I've never had a problem), and it's free, too.

Have you got a link or a site where the Excel templates are located?
