It depends how much $1k is worth to you personally.
If you are thinking hedge, it might be worth looking at STL on the money line so you can still win both bets. Lori |

The amounts are up to you and how much you fancy gambling, but I would like the plan of being able to scoop both ways if it were me.

yeh but its 260 to win 100 so its not worth it..I'm thinking of putting like 3-5 hundred on the Saints -6.5 and then win $6 or 7 hundred if the saints dont cover/lose, or at least 3-5 hundred if they do beat the spread.
i did only wager a dollar after all |

Ok, was hoping it was -200 or so, -260 IS rather steep.
Have a sniff around the prop bets too, even though there is more vig, there may just be one that fits. Lori |

Hedging is a false perception, similar to believing that insurance in blackjack is actually insuring your hand.
If the bet is good straight up, then make it. Otherwise, hope your parlay hits. There's no need to link the two. You just cost yourself part of your win when you bet against the hedge team, unless you have a middle on points. As lorinda said, if you like the moneyline bet, make it. If you don't, don't. Your parlay bet has nothing to do with this. |

yeh but i'm risking a dollar- i basically bet alot of the dogs on the parlay card.
So i can take the chance that St Louis doesnt beat TB by more than 6 points..which if they do win it will either be a blowout or at least a TD. Or I can put say $300 on St Louis...and I still win $800 if my parlay hits..again betting just a dollar, but if the favorite,St Louis wins then I at least get $300. If the line was TB +7 I wouldnt be fretting about this so much....I just get the sinking feeling that St Louis will win by 7 and screw me |

The vig is bad enough on parlays- "throwing away" several hundred of your win just makes that worse.
If you get "screwed" for a dollar, so what? Your call, but I wouldn't make the bet if you don't like it stand-alone. Who was it that hedged their parlay last week and wasted the money? |

yeh but I win money regardless. If I don't hedge then I can lose $1100. If I do hedge and bet say $400 on St L then the most I can lose is $700
